KIEV, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine has signed a visa-free agreement with Antigua and Barbuda, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States said Tuesday on Facebook.

The agreement was signed by the Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valery Chaly and Antigua and Barbuda's Ambassador to the U.S. Ronald Sanders.

The deal envisages that citizens of Ukraine and Antigua and Barbuda could travel through the territory of each other without a visa for a stay of 90 days in any 180-day period.

While commenting on the agreement, Chaly said it will contribute to the development of tourism, business ties and people-to-people exchanges between the countries.

He said that the signing of the deal is an evidence of establishing an active political dialogue and interaction between Ukraine and Antigua and Barbuda.

The visa-free agreement will come into the force after the ratification by the parliaments of the two countries.

Currently, Ukraine has the visa-free mechanism with 85 countries around the globe and holds talks on the facilitation of the visa regime with 20 other states.
