NEW YORK, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- An acclaimed Chinese farmers's choir will make its international debut Tuesday at the New York Philharmonic's annual concert celebrating Chinese Lunar New Year.

The Xiaoshuijing Farmers' Chorus from Yunnan Province, Southern China, will share the stage with 13-year-old pianist Serena Wang featuring Beethoven's grand Choral Fantasy at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Tuesday evening.

This will be the first time that the farmers' chorus has appeared outside China.

Established in 2002 in the mountains of Southern China, Xiaoshuijing Farmers' Chorus, led by choirmaster Guangyuan Long, comprises of 50 farmers from the Miao ethnic minority group based in the village of Xiaoshuijing in Yunnan Province.

Since its inception, the choir has toured throughout China and has collaborated with international ensembles, including the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra.

Among its numerous awards are first prizes in the inaugural China Western Choral Festival, First Yunnan Nie Er Music Week, First Kunming Nie Er Cup Chorus Festival, and First National Farmers' Chorus Festival in Guangzhou.

They have performed at prestigious venues, including Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts, and the Central Conservatory of Music.
