JUBA, April 6 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan's governing party, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM), seeks to strengthen cooperation with the Communist Party of China (CPC) in a bid to share experience on peace and development, a senior SPLM official has said.

Bol Makueng Yol, SPLM Secretary for External Relations, told Xinhua in an interview on Friday that the SPLM has admired how the Chinese party has spearheaded economic development and political stability since it came to power more than six decades ago.

Yol said improved cooperation between the two parties would help bring sustainable peace and development to South Sudan.

Yol said that the SPLM will be sending 20 senior party members to China next month to attend a capacity building training, adding that the seminar would offer the South Sudanese politicians opportunities to share experience with their Chinese counterparts in the areas of development and economic transformation.

"This is a very good development and sustainable partnership, because we have a lot of commonality to share between the CPC and SPLM," he said.
