YANGON, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar and Bangladesh agreed Friday on early repatriation of displaced persons from Myanmar's western Rakhine state who fled to Bangladesh, said a statement following a ministerial meeting between the two neighbors.

The meeting was held between U Kyaw Tint Swe, minister of the State Counselor's office, and Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.

The points agreed upon at the meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw cover establishing reception centers and transit camps in both countries, combating terrorism, drug-trafficking in border areas as well as repatriation of displaced persons residing along the border between the two neighbors.

Revising the language used in the ID cards being issued to the displaced persons who are currently residing in Bangladeshi border district of Cox's Bazar, as well as conducting a joint inspection of the boundary line between the boundary pillars BP34 and BP 35 were also agreed at the ministerial meeting.

Both sides reached on a bilateral agreement- "Arrangement on Return of Displaced Persons from Rakhine State" in November last year.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army extremist terrorists launched attacks on police outposts in Myanmar's Rakhine State on Aug. 25 last year, displacing a vast number of residents to areas bordering Bangladesh.
