KHARTOUM, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Tuesday reiterated the Sudanese army's stay in the Saudi-led Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, official SUNA news agency reported.

Al-Bashir on Tuesday received in Khartoum Saudi Arabia's military Chief of Staff, Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, who is currently visiting Khartoum.

"The security of the two Holy Mosques is a red line, and what Sudan is doing is a sacred and moral duty," al-Bashir was quoted as saying.

"The Sudanese Armed Forces will remain in the alliance according to the commitment between the two countries," he added.

Al-Bashir vowed to enhance and reactivate cooperation of all fields between Sudan and Saudi Arabia, including training sessions, joint projects and joint military maneuvers, the report said.

The Saudi chief of staff arrived in Khartoum on Monday, leading a high-level military delegation to attend conclusion of Sudanese army's military exercise dubbed "Nusrat Al-Haq" (defending the truth) on the Red Sea coast.

Sudan has been part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition against Houthi rebels in Yemen since March 26, 2015.
